MOGADISHU -The Somali government on Tuesday condemned Monday's attack on the convoy of Sudanese Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok in Khartoum. Ahmed Isse Awad, minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation said terrorism must be tackled collectively, noting that Somalia's people and the government will stand by Sudan. "I condemn in the strongest terms the assassination attempt on Sudan PM Hamdok.
Terrorism and its evil violence is abhorrent and must be wiped out. We stand by PM Hamdok and the people of Sudan," Awad said in a statement issued in Mogadishu. The Sudanese PM survived an assassination attempt when his motorcade came under a car bomb attack at the entry of the Sudanese army bridge in the capital Khartoum.
