Kenya reports 390 new COVID-19 cases, total number jumps to 94,151

Kenya on Sunday reported 390 new COVID-19 infections, taking its total number of confirmed cases to 94,151.The figures were announced by the ministry of health, which noted that of the new cases registered, 363 were Kenyans while the remaining 27 were foreigners.It also announced 4 new deaths, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related fatalities to 1,633.Kenya is one of only eight countries in Africa that have recorded more than 94,000 COVID-19 infections.

The East African country's caseload is only shadowed by tallies reported by South Africa, Morocco, Egypt, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Algeria and Libya.Its COVID-19 death toll is the seventh-highest on the continent.The ministry of health also announced that 285 patients had recovered from the disease over the past day, raising the total number of successful recoveries to 75,559.
